PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Minty: The Assassin is nearly complete and the next step for the movie is to enter it into the most prestigious film festivals in the world -- Sundance, Slamdance, Berlin International, SXSW, and Tribeca film festivals are taking submissions before the end of 2007. Those festivals offer national media attention and serve as back-door film markets.

Sundance Film Festival

Slamdance Film Festival

Berlin International Film Festival

SXSW Film

Tribeca Film Festival

If Minty: The Assassin is too unique to appeal to the tastes of programmers from the above film festivals, there are over 1,000 other significant film festivals to submit to. Below is a short list of possible venues that showcase underground cinema.

Boston Underground Film Festival

B-Movie Film Festival

Brussels International Festival of Fantastic Film

Chicago Underground Film Festival

Dead by Dawn: Scotland's International Horror Film Festival

Eerie Horror Film Festival

FanTasia

International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival

New York Underground Film Festival

Resfest

Screamfest LA

TromaDance Film Festival

Journalists and film distributors often attend film festivals. If Minty: The Assassin were to receive positive press coverage, it could open the doors to be bought by a major film distributor such as Lionsgate, Dimension Films, Sony Pictures, who may front as little as $100,000 to purchase the rights to the film. The Blair Witch Project, which was shot for $22,000 was picked up by Artisan Entertainment at the Sundance Film Festival and eventually grossed over $140,000,000 at the box office in the U.S. alone.

SECONDARY OBJECTIVE

The most difficult challenge in receiving a return on a film investment is getting a distributor to pick up your film in the first place (to either purchase or split profit with). Many movies are made each year that are amazing, but unfortunately they have no marketability for various reasons.

If Minty: The Assassin receives no interest by major film distributors through the film festival circuit, getting a return on your investment is still very possible. Several direct-to-video distributors have already expressed interest in Minty: The Assassin because of its marketable B-movie concept.
